Becky, from the DS Careline, shares her experiences over the Christmas period.
I’d like to start by wishing everyone a Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I always think holidays can be very difficult for people that are following gluten and wheat free diet or anyone that is suffering from a food allergy. As a large family that tend to enjoy each other’s company most of the time we get together over Christmas quite a lot and there’s nothing more upsetting or frustrating for my mum (who has a wheat intolerance) when our family of twenty sit down to eat a three course dinner and she has to have something different. On Boxing Day this involved a trade for three bottles of merlot.
Now it’s January and if you’re like us in the office we are circulating the diet plans as we all try to shift the “festive podge”. The girls and I have discovered that the Dietary Specials gluten free Crispbreads rank impressively low on the weight watchers point scheme. They taste really nice and are handy to take with you anywhere, great for a snack or on the go and obviously ideal for the January health kick (unlike the majority of the foods we have been spreading on them!)
I would also like to say a huge thank you to people that rang our careline over the Christmas period. We received such lovely feedback regarding our gluten free foods particularly the new fresh bread. We have also improved our popular gluten free and wheat free Dietary Specials Brown Multigrain Loaf so please look out for it and let us know your thoughts! I think it would be really beneficial for Coeliac sufferers or anyone who has a dietary requirement to hear from others like themselves so please don’t be shy and join our Forum to speak out about your food experiences over Christmas. Many customers said that they had been able to enjoy our products with all the family, as a company we strive to produce great tasting gluten and wheat free foods that taste like their gluten containing equivalent. Which is why I was really pleased to hear that people who don’t necessarily have to following a gluten free diet chose our food voluntarily. Once again I want to say thank you to all our consumers and I wish you all the best for 2010!
