DS-gluten free are spreading the gluten free word around the world (well the UK at least!) starting with Liverpool. Saturday 26th March was the first Glutenfree World Day of 2011 at Liverpool Liner Hotel. The day was split up into 2 sessions, a morning session between 10:00am – 12:30pm and an afternoon session which was particularly popular with attendees arriving at 2:00pm finishing the day at 4:30pm.

As always, DS-gluten free love consumers to grab a bite of our gluten free goodies and Saturday didn’t disappoint! To celebrate the new frozen launch in The Co-operative we brought along our gluten free Sausage Rolls, Margherita Pizza and just because it goes so well with pizza the tasty Tear and Share Garlic Bread made an appearance! Our sister brand, TRUfree, were selling a selection of their gluten free biscuits and crackers. Attendees had the opportunity to buy any 2 for £2 of the gluten free Digestives, Chocolate Fingers, Rich Tea Biscuits, Custard Creams, Bourbons, Milk Chocolate Nobbles and any of the TRUfree crackers.



Glutafin invited along our home economist Michael McCamley who also happens to be Gluten Free Chef of The Year! Michael showed off his gluten free baking skills in a live cookery demonstration, all attendees were invited to watch as Michael made gluten free chocolate chip cookies, the perfect oven loaf and he also demonstrated how to make a gluten free wrap as well as hints and tips on baking gluten free pastry. Our dietitian Jacqui also came along to talk about coeliac disease and following a healthy gluten free diet. The day ended on a high with attendees sampling all of Michael’s tasty treats whilst taking part in a pop quiz where they could also ask Jacqui any questions about Coeliac Disease,food allergies or intolerances.

As it was our first Glutenfree World Day of 2011 we hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who travelled from far and wide to be there on Saturday.
