Like the rest of the country I started 2009 in bed with the flu, giving me plenty of time to wallow in my January blues.
But now that I’m feeling a bit better, I’m determined to ditch the despair. The newspapers have been packed with tips on how to stick to your resolutions so armed with this article from the Independent I’m making a positive but realistic start to the year.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be planning some fun, low-cost activities to help get me through the rest of winter – walks with my husband, cinema trips with the girls and getting creative in the kitchen are all on my list.
When it comes to my coeliac disease, I just want to stay healthy in 2009. In December I picked up pneumonia again – something that is turning into an annual event – so I’ll be looking for ways to eat better and boost my immune system.
And if all else fails, I’ll be following the 6 million other Brits and booking a holiday to give me a boost.
